Cobalt was founded in the summer of 2011 by University of Baltimore MFA classmates Andrew Keating, Samantha Stanco, Rafe Posey, and Jill Williams. Originally a quarterly online lit-mag, Cobalt quickly expanded to include annual print issues, writing contests, and full-length book publishing under the Cobalt Press imprint.
